OBJECTIVE
Wholesome Musical Entertainment Promoting Family Values, preserving the western way of life, and reaching out to a hurting world. Four-part harmony group features Western, Gospel, Country, Bluegrass, Patriotic, and Comedy in traditional songs and original compositions.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Cathy...Self-taught guitarist; song composer and arranger. Performer at social events, concerts, festivals, conventions. Former Children's Choir Director, former member of Christian Board of Education, and Awana's Leader. She is very actively involved with the youth, founder of "Youth With Purpose" which conducts Back to School Kick offs, and Graduation Parties each year. She is also the Advisor of the Fessenden/Bowdon SADD chapter. Owner and
operator of "Cathy's Hairstyling," owner of "Prairie Rose Music;" Country wife (widow) and mother of three.
Slade...Plays piano, fiddle, guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, trumpet, keyboard, & drums. Former 4-H member, Awana program, Sports in High School, founder of band, "Committment Issues" and played in Praise and Worship while in high school. Presently, he is employed by Rick Sucket Construction, and a Bull Rider. Cheyenne...Plays piano, fiddle, and harmonica, Former member of 4-H, Youth Praise and Worship Team, former Awana's program. Co-organizer and performer of “Shooting Starz,” a Christian Dance Group, 2nd place winner for 2003 Keep North Dakota Clean Contest and 1st place winner for 2004. She was extremely active in High School Volleyball and Track, and Choir. She was on the Honor Society, Annual Staff, and Student Council. She presently attends NDSU in Fargo. Cassidy...Plays piano and a rhythm instrument. Former member of 4-H, Youth Praise and Worship, and former Awana program. Co-organizer and performer of “Shooting Starz,” a Christian Dance Group. 1st place winner in 4th grade division of Keep North Dakota Clean Contest, in 2003. Presently very active in High School Volleyball and Track. She is also a member of SADD, Honor Society, and Student Council.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Prairie Rose has shared the stage with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Rogers; Baxter Black; and Rodney Nelson, among others. She has been an entertainer at the Western Music Association in Tucson, Arizona and found herself on the cover of the Elko, Nevada Newspaper after her performance at the Elko Nevada Cowboy Poetry Gathering. "North Dakota, USA" and "Modern Day Cowboy" (both original compositions) were sanctioned by the ND State Centennial Committee and were the most requested songs on KSJB Radio Station in Jamestown, ND, the summer of l989. Cathy has received numerous Honorable Mentions in National Songwriting Competitions and the only two years she entered the Kentucky Fried Chicken-KSJB Song Writing Contest; she took first place. She is a member of ASCAP, Professional Member of the Western Music Association, and a former board member of the North Dakota Songwriter's Association. She has received television coverage from her song, "All Alone" the ballad of John Thompson (local farm boy involved in a tragic farm accident). Cathy's songs have aired on various radio stations across the nation. She has been featured on air interviews over major radio stations, including: KGNU (Boulder, CO.): WSDR (Dixon, IL); KTCR (Billings, MT); KSJB &KQDJ (Jamestown N.D); KFGO (Fargo, ND); KBMR (Bismarck, ND); & KYYZ (Williston, ND). Cathy was a contestant in the 2000 Mrs. North Dakota International Pageant and has also been featured in numerous magazines in the country, including sharing the cover with son, Slade, on the cover of international magazine, Country Woman, and was featured in a German publication called, Country ideals.

Slade, the oldest Sidekicks, and Mom, shared the cover of Country Woman. Slade auditioned for 4 honor choirs the year of 2003-2004. He was accepted at all four. The largest one being held in Sioux Falls, SD where he was joined with youth from 6 surrounding states…South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. He has been given a fiddle, mandolin, dobro, and a banjo, by fans; the Banjo, being his favorite. Within a year, he had folks young and old toe tapping to his music. Cheyenne, has been featured in magazines as well, including Country Magazine. She was asked to sing the National Anthem at a sports event at 8 years old, and helped open up the National Anthem at the Fargo/Moorehead stadium summer of 2003, at a Redhawks Baseball game. She has been the arranger, cast scripts and organizer of a musicals entitled, "American Ideals" “Promise U.” She plays harmonica, fiddle, and keyboard.
Cassidy, plays a rhythm instrument on stage and charms people with her smile. She has people in awe as she opens up with solos, such as in “Home on the Range.” Like the other Sidekicks; she’s been featured in magazines, and she was given a guitar at a performance. She is presently working on the mandolin.

Prairie Rose and the Sidekicks have had coverage in various Country Magazines and featured in the NDREC Magazine. They have also been seen on Farmers Union Insurance TV ads.
Together, they've had several interviews with KFYR Radio and were the winners of the stations, lst Annual Home Grown Talent Contest. They have also been asked for reappearances on the KFYR, Country Morning Television Show. They have been repeat performers for the "Cowboy Songs and Range Ballads," and Cody Stampede, in Cody, Wy. This group also opened for Ian Tyson, August of 2003. They sang at the Yankton South Dakota Cowboy Poetry Gathering, and they are yearly entertainers at the North Dakota Cowboy Poetry Gatherings. They have been showcased at the ND/SD Fair Association Conventions and were the entertainment for the 2000 ND REC Awards Banquet, 2002 North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance State Convention, 2005 ND Farm Bureau State Convention-presenting the worship service, entertainment for the National Beavers Ambassadors Convention, and many others. They have been entertainers for the North Dakota West River Teamster's Lewis & Clark Wagon Trail for a number of years, North Dakota Auctioneers Convention (presenting the full morning church service, requested back for 2005, 4 consecutive years in a row.), and have performed at the North Dakota Camp for the physically and mentally handicapped.
Prairie Rose and the Sidekicks were featured act for a series of concerts that took place in Sales Barns across the Mid West. These concerts are called, “Cross Fire” Concerts. It consisted of 4 various acts, as an outreach to present the gospel.

They have performed throughout a large part of the country. They took a tour from North Dakota to Florida, over to Texas and back to their home state., singing in various churches, and organizations. They sang at Cowboy Church in Nashville, Tn., where the late Johnny Cash’s brother in law was the officiating pastor. They shared the stage with Johnny’s sister. They recently performed at the Cheyenne, Wy., Cowboy Symposium, where they were featured artists, and the same weekend., traveled to Sioux Falls, SD., Lifelight Festival, and shared the same stage as the Gatlin Brothers, Todd Agnew, and Salvador. They were one of 80 groups accepted to perform at the Lifelight Festival. Approx. attendance was expected to be over 200,000 – 300,000 people. Along with Lifelight Festival, they also took a tour into Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and North Dakota, where they sang in churches throughout the entire trip.
2005, they were asked back to the Lifelight Festival, with 275,000 people in attendance. They have been repeat performers for the UND Hockey game at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND. They have sang at The Praise on the Prairie Concerts, Peace Gardens, and will be performing at Lifelight Festival, Sioux Falls, once again this Labor Day Weekend. They were also the featured music for the 2008 North Dakota Governor's Prayer Breakfast.
The Sidekicks have been local talent winners in musical competition.. Slade was seen on the cover of several ND newspapers being recognized for raising money for the National Organization "Toys for Tots." Cheyenne was also part of children's group that raised money to purchase Bibles for the "Persecuted Church." Both children fasted for 30 hours and did outreach work with their youth group, serving at a homeless shelter, in Winnipeg, March of 2003.,and are once again actively involved with the 30 hour famine for 2004 and 2005. They both were a part of a leadership program through the Community Church of God, in Bowdon., their home church.
2006, all three children will be involved in all youth events, including another 30 hour famine.
What’s special about this group? They’re a family and they share family harmony that just comes naturally. The instruments they play; mostly self taught. Is it a gift? I think so. They have been given a gift for a reason; to try to help make a difference in a hurting world. They will make you laugh, and they will make you cry. They will make a difference in your life.
